CERIPH – HOUSING SINGAPOREAN THOUGHTS

12.30.11 | Comment

Birds of a feather flock together, and that’s exactly what Birds & Co, a local business, is actively achieving and promoting through their independently run, quarterly book publication in Singapore entitled “Ceriph”. Ceriph is a beautiful idea, an almost patriotic one at that, a collection of Singaporean creative work in the form of prose, poetry, social commentaries, photography and visual art.

In a small island nation with an even smaller community, it makes perfect sense for us to “flock” together as one, the unified force of which would benefit us far greater than the nagging complaints and commonly expressed dissatisfaction. It is heartening to know that there exists a growing number of outlets through which we can express ourselves, Ceriph being one of the many.

With that said, It’s only appropriate that their name is the term given to the semi-structural details on the ends of alphabetical fonts that make up letters and symbols.  “Likewise, we hope to be the book covers and endings of these Singaporean creative pieces, to provide structural support.” Respect.

Ceriph Issue 1, 2 and 3, along with other limited, hand-cut, hand-stitched and hand-printed notebooks and stationaries are available at Blackmarket No.2
