“Best known for her espresso cup rings sold at multi-label store Blackmarket (each is hand-broken and unique, with the sharp edges sanded down), Andree Weschler’s crossover into the field of fashion happened quite accidentally.”
“One Afternoon, I was having coffee when my cup broke. I was playing around with the broken piece, put my finger through the handle , and realized it would make a great ring.”
Andree is also an artist who is well versed in a diverse range of art disciplines encompassing Performance Art, Drawings, Video Art, Photography and Installation. Her artistic endeavours focus on “using the physical body to explore the boundaries of acceptable social constructs. The performing body is used as a tool for discovery, often becoming material in itself. Her work also attempts to challenge the audience into reading her performance of bodily differences.”
